I got the opportunity to visit Birdies LA in DTLA. From their fiery and delicious fried chicken sandwiches to their amazingly yummy doughnuts, this is a place you must visit!
I was able to meet Birdies LA Sous Chef, Jake Epstein and talk through the entire menu and what were some of his favorites. I also asked Chef Jake what he would create if he was able to add a doughnut to the menu at Birdies. He mentioned he’d love to mix the influences of teas like Earl Grey and Bourbon! Sounds interesting right?! A little relaxation with the tea, and a little kick with the bourbon! I’ll be first in line if he ever makes it happen!
I also ordered the Birdies LA Spicy Chicken Sandwich and my friend got the Birdies LA Breakfast Chicken Sandwich. OH-MY-GOSH… When you bite into them, the yolk from the egg drips and it is just mind-blowing! I also loved how sweet the bread that it’s made in is. It is a nice blend with the ingredients inside the sandwich. The spicy sandwich includes Cole Slaw, Ghost Pepper Mayo, Tillamook Pepperjack, and cured pickles. The breakfast sandwich includes Apple wood smoked bacon, Tillamook Cheddar and of course, Birdies special sauce. 🙂
When it comes to doughnuts… There were so many! See below some of the ones I tried from Red Velvet, Pistachio, Chocolate, Strawberry, Oreo, and a Glazed doughnut with bacon!!! Their current special doughnut is made with fresh Farmer’s Market ingredients. The ingredient this time around and in the one below was, Strawberries! Can we take a second to admire the beauty in those strawberries?!
The doughnut below is the famous $100 doughnut with gold flakes, which I’m sure tastes amazing!
They also have coffee’s and teas which are delicious!
Make sure to comment below if you’ve gone to Birdies LA and share what you had.
If you make a trip there let me know as well! xo
